Each file is signed with Ed25519. The app accepts one only if its signature checks out under a key built into the app and its version is newer than the one it already has; otherwise it keeps what it has. A library is never refused for its age, and no change here ever deletes a model you have downloaded. Hive hosts no model weights: each model downloads from Hugging Face, from its publisher's own MLX build or else the mlx-community one, pinned to a revision and checked by SHA-256.
